Tilgear is a long-term supporter of the SkillBuild competitions and are delighted to be involved again this year. We’re looking forward to attending the competitions throughout the UK and marvelling at the amazing talent and skills we have no doubt will be on show. We’ll also be supplying tools and equipment for the prize packages going to worthy winners in each category.
"Training and apprenticeships are essential to the future, as vocational skills form a key part of the UK economy. SkillBuild is an excellent provision that raises the bar of construction skills to a world class level - the Olympics of vocational studies.
"Every year we’re impressed with the determination and dedication of the students to develop into highly skilled professionals with a full understanding of their subject. SkillBuild always attracts a large turnout, at good venues and create a great atmosphere – the staff at Tilgear look forward to meeting customers at the regional heats in the coming months.”

Regional Qualifiers
This year’s regional qualifiers kick off on Friday 22nd March at Belfast MET. The regional competitions are held across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, bringing together trainees and apprentices from across the country to compete in their chosen skills. For competitors taking part in the Advanced competitions, the results from each of the qualifiers are combined, and the highest scoring competitors overall will be invited to take part in the UK National Final.

UK National Final
The level of competition increases for Advanced competitors when they come together from all over the UK for the first time to compete in a 3-day competition. Gold, silver and bronze medals are handed out at an awards ceremony after the final day of competition is finished. The highest scoring medal winners who are age and skill eligible can now progress through to Team UK, with the potential to be selected to compete at an international level.
