We are excited to announce that Tilgear will once again be exhibiting at The D&T Association Summer School. For the third year running, the event will be held at the state-of-the-art facilities of De Montfort University, Leicester.
The Summer School provides the opportunity for teachers, and all those involved in D&T education, to come together, listen, observe, and actively take part in practical workshops and discussions.
The agenda is still being finalised, but will include a wide range of innovative and inspiring D&T activities such as:
- Avoiding design fixation
- Flip learning
- Engaging activities for core content
- Embedding sustainability in the design process
- Gears and Mechanisms
- CAD/CAM textiles
- Contextual challenge – differentiating for different abilities
- Engineering sessions
- User centred design
- Crumble and MicroBit sessions
- STEM club ideas
- Rough and messy modelling
Please note: due to the nature of this event the agenda will remain subject to change. Please check the schedule here.
The summer school workshops will provide support to teachers implementing changes, as well as providing opportunity for developing subject knowledge and pedagogical skills. Workshops are designed to help and support you through and ensure that both levels of confidence and expertise are developed. No prior experience is necessary, with sessions accommodating all levels.
